Ahhhh, the web is alive with the sound of Froyo. At least it is if you’re a Droid X owner. The long awaited updated is almost here and we’ve received confirmation that tomorrow, Wednesday the 22nd, is the big day.

If you still don’t believe us, and quite frankly we can’t say we blame you for as long as it’s taken, just do a search on the internets and you’ll see post after post after post detailing Verizon’s acknowledgement that Droid X is getting Froyo starting tomorrow.

Motorola has sent word that the new Droid X at Verizon is scheduled to get Android 2.2 (Froyo) in early September of 2010.

The Droid X is Motorola’s most recently launched super phone.  It was released at Verizon on July 15^th.  The consensus is that this is among the most powerful if not the most powerful phone on the market right now.  It has a 1GHz processor, a 4.3” high resolution display, 8GB of built in memory and is preloaded with a 16GB MicroSD card, expandable to 32GB for a total of 40GB of memory.  It currently comes equipped with Android 2.1 (Éclair), which while snappy in its own right, is significantly slower than Froyo.
